Hello, I'm Ashley Moon

Currently I am embarking on my next endeavor as a Software Engineer. I have been a high school math teacher for the past eight years while also coaching volleyball on the side. I have loved all the opportunities I have had to show students that math is FUN, hard work pays off and to live by my motto "Be a Marigold 🌼".

While continuing education, I decided to complete a Master's in Applied Mathematics. I not only got to explore different branches of mathematics, but found an interest in coding! I learned how to build webpages using HTML and how to encrypt secret messages using modular math in combination with ciphers. It was an incredible experience that allowed me to see how technology could be part of my future career.

Over the last year I have been learning front-end languages through SheCodes such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript and React to make responsive applications. Now through Codeacademy, I am taking courses in back-end languages to build my stack as a developer.
